Inkjet Print on Hahnemuhle Pearl

Matching uses a Pantone colour matching application to allude to the photographic image as a dataset in which the image of the artwork is no longer used as an visual surrogate for the artwork, but exists to be reduced to a decorating decision. Thomas E. Crow’s writing on how the artwork became a background for fashino in the age of Abstract Expressionism is extended to one of it’s logical conclusions in a moment where the image of the artwork is social media wallpaper: it becomes pure decor.
